Artist's Statement:
As a child I always dreamed of being an artist.
To pursue this goal I received a BFA degree in Fine Arts from Layton School of Art and an MA degree and Teaching Certification at the university of Wisconsin in Madison. Upon finishing my studies, I moved to Racine and began a career as an Art Teacher/Artist that lasted 32 years. While exhibiting my artwork in state and national shows, I won a number of awards and have had work in collections in North America and Europe.
As we entered the new century, I entered retirement as well. My wife Marty and I relocated to Door County to join this vibrant art community. We joined the Door County Art League and I have served on the board for five years, including three as an officer. I have regularly exhibited in juried shows at the Miller Art Museum, the Hardy, the PAS Gallery, and the Neville Museum. I have continued to win awards with my paintings, including the Gerhard Miller Award of Excellence, at the Miller Art Museum. My work is available at the DCAL Showcase Gallery, The PPAP Showcase Gallery, and the Paintbox Gallery.
My paintings are primarily landscapes, and the majesty of nature is my source of inspiration. I hope you enjoy my paintings as much as I enjoy making them.
